Biography

Chelsea Bates serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner in Department of Pediatric Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She works closely with patients and families to create treatment goals and plans to best manage their urologic conditions and concerns.  

Her clinical interests encompass the full spectrum of pediatric urology and she sees a variety of urologic conditions, including incontinence, urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux, and more. Additionally, Chelsea performs biofeedback therapy, provides clean intermittent catheterization teaching, and offers post-operative care.

 Prior to joining the Medical University of South Carolina, Chelsea began her nursing career at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the emergency department. In 2018, she graduated from Augusta University with her doctorate of nursing practice degree with a focus on the pediatric population. Chelsea has a passion for working with children and sharing her knowledge of genitourinary conditions with her patients and families.
