Dr. Robert Gellin joined the faculty in 1985. He is a professor and the director of the Division of Periodontics in the Department of Stomatology. Dr. Gellin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a fellow of the American College of Dentists and a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He received his DMD from the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry in 1980. He spent three years in the U.S. Public Health Service, including a one-year general practice residency. In 1985, Dr. Gellin earned his Certificate in Periodontics and Master in Health Sciences from the Medical University of South Carolina. He has given numerous presentations to dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants for local, state, national, and international dental organizations.
Dr. Gellin maintains an active practice limited to periodontics and dental implants within the College of Dental Medicine's dental faculty practice.
Dr. Gellin also serves as chair of the axiUm Committee. axiUm is the College of Dental Medicine's clinic management software.
