Elizabeth Genovese, M.D., MS is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Genovese is a part of the MUSC Health Heart and Vascular Center, offering South Carolinian’s most advanced vascular surgery care. She treats patients with a wide range of vascular conditions using the latest minimally invasive procedures that can speed recovery with less pain and infection risk.
Dr. Genovese specializes in treating patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), caused by a buildup of plaque in the blood vessels which can cause infections, foot ulcers, and can lead to amputation. At MUSC Health, she and her team have adopted a new technology for patients with complex below-the-knee arteries, improving outcomes for patients at risk of losing a limb due to PAD.
Her patient care philosophy is to build a strong, trusting relationship with her patients that will continue long past the original visit. She values these life-long relationships with her patients that will continue to evolve as their relationship grows together.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Genovese received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Notre Dame and her master of science and medical degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Genovese completed her post graduate training in the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she was the Administrative Chief Resident.
