Dr. Frederick Hamilton is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon at MUSC Health – Orthopaedics- Marion Medical Park. Dr. Hamilton provides a wide range of diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitative services for injuries and disorders of the skeletal system and bones, joints, tendons, muscles, ligaments and nerves. He treats sports injuries including sprains, strains, and fractures. Dr. Hamilton performs total knee replacement surgery along with arthroscopic knee surgery. He specializes in general orthopaedics which includes fracture care (operative and non-operative), arthroscopy, hand surgery, upper and lower extremity surgery, total knee arthroplasty, shoulder surgery, non-operative treatment of osteoarthritis of spine and joints. Dr. Hamilton is dedicated to helping you return to your normal healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Hamilton grew up in rural Michigan and attended Purdue University in Indiana. He was a member of the Purdue University football team for four years and his senior year a member of the Purdue football team that beat the University of Southern California in the Rose Bowl. He graduated with his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Hamilton did his general surgery residency and orthopaedic surgical residency in Flint, Michigan at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, and a pediatric orthopaedic surgical fellowship at Children’s Medical Center, in Dayton, Ohio. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon.
Initially Dr. Hamilton practiced in Michigan before moving to South Carolina in 1994. He is married and has three children. His wife’s family is from Marion, SC. He enjoys being with his family and children, swimming, and water activities, going to the beach and traveling with his family whenever possible.
