Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Yourshaw is an interventional cardiologist and critical care cardiologist who specializes in catheter-based procedures and innovation for the treatment of coronary artery disease, mechanical circulatory support, and shock.

Originally from Pottsville Pennsylvania, Dr. Yourshaw completed his undergraduate education at Penn State University where he graduated as student marshall of the Eberly College of Sciences. He then went on to medical school at Penn State College of Medicine followed by internal medicine residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Following residency he completed a chief resident and instructor year at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Lebanon VA Medical Center. He then moved to Charleston where he completed fellowships at MUSC in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Yourshaw's academic interests focus on innovation in the treatment of shock and mechanical circulatory support. He is one of a small number of interventional cardiologists who have also completed dedicated training and obtained board certification in critical care medicine. He looks forward to bringing his expertise and training to the Lowcountry to care for the sickest of patients.

When not in the hospital you can find him out and about in Charleston, enjoying the beach, local restaurants, exercising, and doing yoga.
