For Healthcare Professionals: How to Refer Patients for COVID-19 Antibody Infusion Treatment

If you are a patient seeking information on scheduling an appointment to receive antibody infusion treatment, please visit our patient information page.

MUSC Health has opened COVID+ Infusion suites in Charleston, Lancaster, and Florence. The sites administer monoclonal antibody treatment to patients who meet the symptom onset and eligibility requirement of the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). MUSC is now accepting outside referrals.

Providers Who Have an Existing Care Link Account

To refer a patient, please log in to MUSC Health CareLink and select the AMB Referral for Monoclonal Antibody Infusion (REF009). The referral workflow includes a pick list to fill in eligibility criteria and symptom onset, to make sure patients are eligible. Patients must have symptoms and meet one of the eligibility criteria. If their testing was performed outside MUSC Health, a copy of the test will be required.

Providers Who Do Not Have a Care Link Account

  • If you do not have a CareLink account, please request an account. Account activation can take up to one week.
  • While waiting for account activation, external providers can refer patients via our system.
  • In addition to helping to verify eligibility, uploading a copy of the patient’s demographic information and a copy of their COVID positive test is required.

Referrals will be routed to the appropriate teams in each division for scheduling. Patients will be called within the next business day, and scheduled at the next available appointment, which may be up to 48 to 72 hours away.
