Employee Assistance Program

Mental health, substance abuse and personal issues greatly impact employee productivity resulting in increased errors, accidents, absenteeism, poor customer service and difficulty getting along with co-workers. Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) are designed to assist organizations in addressing productivity issues, as well as assisting employees in identifying and resolving personal and occupational concerns that may affect job performance. Effective EAPs have been shown to improve health, performance, morale, and overall quality of life of employees.

Programs and Services

MUSC EAP is local and is uniquely positioned within MUSC’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences with access to nationally recognized psychiatrists, psychologists, and the MUSC Institute of Psychiatry (IOP). The IOP provides the most thorough, research based care available for a full range of psychiatric problems. This allows for an improved continuity of care and makes our referral process virtually seamless. At MUSC EAP, we develop dynamic and customized employee assistance programs for each client company. Our philosophy is to make counseling services readily available so employees experiencing challenging life events or wrestling with day to day issues get help before it escalates and begins to harm job performance
