At MUSC Health, we provide a welcoming environment for patients who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning (LGBTQ+). MUSC Health care team members strive to offer equitable care to all, while also acknowledging and respecting the specific needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

MUSC Health is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive health care environment for all of our patients and families. We recognize the unique challenges facing our under-served communities and strive to address these challenges through culturally and linguistically appropriate care.

We recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals face many barriers to accessing appropriate health care services and often experience worse health outcomes. As such, MUSC is committed to being recognized as a “Leader in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. As part of this journey, we aim to build an LGBTQ+-inclusive experience for our patients and families and demonstrate progress toward inclusion on LGBTQ+ patient care and support across our health care system.
