Vanessa Ramirez, MS, ATC

Vanessa Ramirez, born and raised in Southern California, graduated from UCLA in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her time at UCLA, she participated in a sports medicine internship program and worked with the football team and women’s soccer team. Vanessa received her Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2019 from Chapman University in Orange, CA. Vanessa then went on to work towards her PhD in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Vanessa is currently in her fourth year in the PhD program. Her research interests include concussion, lower extremity biomechanics, and lower extremity injury risk. While in Virginia, Vanessa worked clinically at Norfolk Public Schools and Norfolk Christian Schools. She was also an adjunct instructor at Norfolk State University and taught Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries. Vanessa is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association. Vanessa joined the MUSC Health Sports Medicine Team in the spring of 2022.
