FAA Flight Physicals

Dr. Michelle Cunningham is an FAA-authorized aviation medical examiner (AME), certified to administer Class 2 and Class 3 flight physicals for pilots. Appointments are available in Charleston, at our West Ashley office, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Schedule your FAA physical by calling 843-876-3151.

About the FAA Flight Physical

To be granted any class of airman medical certificate, you must meet the FAA’s required medical standards. The physical will ensure that pilots and pilots in training meet the medical requirements as advised by the FAA. Your flight physical will include:

  • Eye Exam
  • Urinalysis
  • Physical Exam
  • Review of Medical History
  • Review of Medications
  • Mental Health Assessment

The FAA requires you to apply for a medical certificate at FAA MedXpress prior to your physical exam.  Dr. Cunningham will need your MedXPress confirmation number to issue your medical certificate. Learn more about FAA medical requirements.

Class 3 Flight Physicals - $120

Class 3 physicals are for private or recreational pilots.

Class 2 Flight Physicals - $150

Class 2 physicals are for commercial pilots, flight engineers, flight navigators or air traffic control tower operators.
