Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women – but if detected early, the disease can usually be treated successfully. With three convenient locations and a team of fellowship-trained radiologists, MUSC Health is making it easier than ever for women to take control of their breast health, all backed by the state’s only NCI-designated cancer center.
Guidelines from the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) recommend annual mammograms for women age 40 and older. If you believe you are at risk for breast cancer, please contact your health care provider, as some women may benefit from a high-risk breast evaluation.
Regardless of where you have your mammogram done, a fellowship-trained MUSC Health radiologist who specializes in breast imaging will read your results within 24 hours. Diagnostic breast imaging services and biopsies are offered at our Hollings Cancer Center and the East Cooper Medical Pavilion locations.
