Ling-Lun Bob Hsia, MD

Dr. Bob Hsia grew up in Richmond, Virginia and attended college at Virginia Tech, graduating with honors in aerospace engineering. He decided that he wanted to pursue a career in medicine to more directly help people, so left his engineering training behind and attended medical school at the University of Virginia. After medical school, he received extensive residency training in dermatology at East Carolina University, where he served as chief resident in his final year of training. He is especially passionate about dermatologic surgery, particularly skin cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery after skin cancer removal. Because of this interest, he continued his training with a rigorous fellowship year dedicated to Mohs surgery and reconstruction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After finishing his training, Dr. Hsia wanted to provide the highest level of care to his patients while also teaching the next generation of doctors and advancing his specialty. He found the perfect setting by joining the faculty of the Medical University of South Carolina.
