Outside of Pharmacy

I enjoy playing with my dog, watching YouTube, experimenting with makeup, walking, and going to the beach.  A fun fact about myself is that my parents let me name my brother when I was 8 years old; his name is Zealand!

Why MUSC

When looking at residency programs, I knew I wanted to go the community-based residency route while still having a diverse collection of opportunities. MUSC was able to offer a unique array of rotations within the community setting, with a focus on ambulatory care and specialty pharmacy. Many community-based programs are exclusively longitudinal, while MUSC offers my preference of a block schedule. When I came to do my interviews it was clear that my preceptors would have a balance of pushing me, giving me autonomy, advocating for me, and guiding me along my residency journey. It is an added bonus that MUSC is in the amazing area of Charleston.

Outside of Pharmacy

I enjoy spending time with my husband Adam and cat Ollie, exploring new restaurants and bars, running, trying new breweries, reading, and watching The Bachelor.  A fun fact about myself is that I served as a race director for a triathlon for 2 years, and I've never actually done one!

Why MUSC

I chose MUSC for its unique PGY1 Community-Based residency program, which provides a well-rounded community experience with an emphasis on ambulatory care. I was drawn to the wide variety of clinical and rotational experiences, in addition to vast leadership and professional development opportunities. Additionally, MUSC works closely with the College of Pharmacy and provides ample teaching and precepting opportunities. The clinical specialists and preceptors are dedicated to the residency program and the continued success of their residents, and their support is evident throughout my learning experiences. MUSC was the right fit for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and develop my clinical and professional skills as a pharmacist.
