How to Earn RID CEUs
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) serves as an Approved Sponsor for CEUs through the Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP) of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), Inc. In this role, MUSC approves continuing education activities for CEUs based on evidence that the activities meet RID’s CMP policies as stated in the CMP Standards and Criteria. Additional information on the Certificate Maintenance Program is available at RID’s website.
There are four categories of CEUs that are granted by RID:
- Sponsor Initiated Activities (e.g. workshops and conferences)
- Participant Initiated Non-RID Activities (PINRAs)
- Academic Coursework
- Independent Study
Please note that it can take up to 60 days for CEUs to be added to your transcript. If 60 days have lapse since your CEU-earning activity and your CEUs from the event are still not posted on your transcript, please fill out the CEU Discrepancy Report form.
