Mobile COVID-19 Testing Sites

MUSC Health is coming to your area with free COVID-19 testing throughout South Carolina.

This page details COVID-19 testing facilities that do not require an appointment. For our mobile testing sites, patients may remain in their vehicles or walk up. Please visit our testing homepage if you are looking for information on making an appointment for COVID-19 testing or want to arrange for antibody testing. MUSC Health continues to expand COVID-19 testing availability to reach rural and underserved communities across the state through mobile testing and collection sites. These sites are free to patients and do not require an appointment.

Our mobile testing sites offer diagnostic COVID-19 testing (via nasopharyngeal swab) known as a “COVID-19 PCR.” Currently, all diagnostic tests are done by a medical professional by taking a small amount of nasal aspirate with a swab.

What you need to know for your visit:

  • No cost to patients*
  • No preregistration or appointment necessary
  • If available, please bring a driver’s license or valid picture id
  • Patients must be at least 2 years of age
  • A parent or legal guardian must accompany patients under 18 years old
  • Patients will be contacted within 7-10 days, if not sooner, with the results of their test
  • Please wear a mask

* Patients are asked to bring an insurance card if they have one. Insurance is not required to be seen, however, the CARES Act does require MUSC to bill insurance providers if patients do have insurance.

Results

Patients will be contacted within 7-10 days with the results of their test, if not sooner. Patients may email drivethruresults@musc.edu for questions regarding results. If you do not have an email address, please call 843-985-8888.

Note: MUSC Health is offering free, drive-through testing at the above location from 1:30-5:30 p.m. November 23-25. No appointment is necessary during this time frame. Patients can be tested with or without symptoms. Patients are asked to wear a mask whether symptomatic or asymptomatic and bring a valid picture ID and insurance card (if applicable). Test results will be available within 24-48 hours. Patients under 18 years old must be accompanied by a legal guardian. As a reminder, if patients have insurance, MUSC Health is required to bill that insurance provider; however, patients will not be responsible for any costs associated with testing per the CARES Act. If patients have deductibles or no insurance, they will not receive a bill. If available, please bring photo ID and insurance card.

If patients have deductibles or no insurance, they will not receive a bill.
