Virtual Urgent Care
- For minor illnesses and injuries that do not require an in-person physical exam. A virtual urgent care visit might include sprains, strains, cough/cold symptoms, flu symptoms, rashes, COVID concerns and more
- Use an asynchronous chat feature or video visit with the next available provider with an order sent to your pharmacy in 15 minutes.
Scheduled Virtual Primary Care Visit
- For preventive check-ins, managing ongoing conditions, including concerns related to weight, sleep, stress, anxiety, and mood.
- Preferred option for scheduled appointments or recurring appointments with the same provider.
- Perfect for those looking for in-depth discussions about your overall health, preventive care, and management of chronic conditions.
- Video consultation and secure messaging.
Providers are specially trained to conduct consultations with patients over video visits. During these visits, the provider may ask about symptoms, medical history, and any concerns you may have. They may also provide instructions for self-examination or use specialized equipment that you have access to, such as a smartphone with a high-resolution camera.

All of the care you receive from your virtual care provider is coordinated with other care team members at MUSC Health and is connected to your medical record and MUSC MyChart. You will always be directed to the most appropriate type of care for your specific needs.

To select a Virtual Primary Care provider as your primary care physician:
- Book your first Virtual Primary Care visit with that provider.
- Create an Ovatient MyChart and then link to your MUSC Health MyChart account to keep your records and care plan connected and accessible in either MyChart. It's easy and only takes seconds to link your accounts. This quick explainer will show you how.
- For future visits, choose the same provider again in MUSC Health MyChart or the MUSC Health provider directory.
