Description The topic is Hyperuricemia and Gout - New Concepts and Guidelines for an Ancient Disease
Objectives 1. Discuss the increasing prevalence and implications of hyperuricemia and gout.
2. Introduce the concept of gout as (1) a urate storage disease and (2) an acute inflammatory disease.
3. Review current guidelines for the management of hyperuricemia and gout.
