Description This video is part of the Neonatal Pharmacology Conference.
Objectives Define the epidemiology, transmission mechanisms, and clinical significance of congenital and perinatal cytomegalovirus infection in neonates.
Describe the diagnostic approach to CMV in neonates, including timing, specimen selection, and interpretation of laboratory results.
Compare the clinical manifestations and outcomes of symptomatic versus asymptomatic CMV infection in preterm and term i nfants.
Discuss current evidence-based strategies for prevention, treatment, and long-term follow-up of infants affected by CMV.
