VolunTEEN end of program luncheon

The Junior Volunteer Program, which takes place in June-July, is intended for high school students and college students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a healthcare setting. Our junior volunteers help out in a variety of ways, including:

  • Running errands for the departments.
  • Directing and transporting patients.
  • Delivering flowers, cards to patients.
  • Help in the mail department with sorting and delivering mail.
  • Basic office duties such as filing, answering phones, stocking up supplies.

Requirements

To be considered for our junior volunteer program, applicants must:

  • Be at least 14 years of age by June 1st.
  • Complete and submit an application with a letter of recommendation on a business letterhead.
  • Submit  immunization records (mandatory).
  • Attend an interview with the Volunteer Services Manager.
  • Complete Health Employee requirements, including PPD skin test.
  • Wear approved uniform and picture ID when on duty.
  • Choose between AM shift, PM shift, or both.
  • Complete hospital orientation that includes confidentiality statement, HIPAA agreements.
  • Complete Volunteer Services Orientation including infection control, fire, and safety trainings.
