Concierge Medicine (MUSC Accel Health)

MUSC Accel Health is an annual subscription-based concierge health program connecting you with a doctor specializing in primary care. Your doctor will focus on preventive medical care and create wellness plans customized to your unique needs. This dedicated partnership between you and your doctor includes convenient and immediate attention through same-day or next-day appointments, customized wellness plans, personalized care, direct access to physician and referral management to specialty care.

MUSC Accel Health providers are dedicated to a small group of patients allowing them to spend more time focused on your health care needs.

MUSC Accel Health accepts most insurances (our office can tell you if they accept your specific insurance plan).

Your annual fee will be due at the 1st appointment, then due on your anniversary date after that.

MUSC Accel Health provides services covered by insurance. Annual membership fees are not reimbursable through HSA, FSA, MSA, or HRA; however, any out-of-pocket expense, including copay, co-insurance, or deductible amounts, are eligible for reimbursement.

Members will be seen at the MUSC Accel Health office. Your provider will develop an evidence-based plan to provide you with all appropriate recommended screenings, which could occur in the office or at another MUSC-affiliated office.

No, upon joining the program, an MUSC Accel Health provider will see you at the MUSC Accel Health practice.

MUSC Accel Health membership agreements extend only to the individual patient; there is currently no family discount. Additionally, MUSC Accel Health physicians do not provide care to pediatric patients. Patients are required to be 18 years of age or older to apply.

The annual fee is $2,000 per member. This fee covers services and amenities, including:

• Primary care provider access with same-day/next-day in-person or virtual appointments (shorter wait times)
• Personalized care coordination
• Referral management to specialists, and other programs as needed/requested
• In-office lab draws
• Direct access to your provider via phone, text, and email
• Personal reminders for appointments and preventive care

Members will be able to terminate their membership at any time. However, a member shall only be entitled to a refund in the following circumstances:

• Termination results from the inability of MUSC Accel Health to continue to make its services available to the member
• Either party elects to terminate this agreement by providing six (6) months’ notice to the other party

In any such event, the terminated member will be entitled to a refund of a prorated portion of the Membership Fee. Refunds are not available for newly hospitalized patients or acutely ill patients, regardless of the duration of their treatment or whether a wellness exam has been performed.

No, patients reserve the right to seek care from outside specialists and hospitals.

Your doctor will arrange for coverage. You will receive contact information for the covering physician, as needed.

If health care services not included in the program services are provided by the practice, the practice will bill insurance, as applicable, and the member accepts financial responsibility for all services as agreed by the member per MUSC Health’s Ambulatory Consent.

Member also acknowledges that services provided by outside independent entities are not covered under the Membership fee. Member will be financially responsible for such services.

Yes, current MUSC Accel Health patients can be seen at other Accel Health locations for urgent needs or while traveling, ensuring that you have access to care no matter where you are.
