Community Training Center

Announcements

The MUSC Community Training Center contracted with the American Heart Association in 2002 to operate as a Community Training Center. The CTC is a key component of the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Training Network. Each Training Center signs an Agreement with the American Heart Association (AHA) to provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training programs to the community. The CTC is dedicated to providing quality programs and helps strengthen the chain of survival in South Carolina.

Mission & Goals of American Heart Association (AHA)

The American Heart Association’s mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke. The CTC supports the AHA mission and goals through administrative, educational, and quality assurance support of its AHA instructors. The CTC also supports the Medical University of South Carolina’s mission and purpose through the provision of quality AHA classes to healthcare professionals, to the community, and by educating and informing the AHA instructors on new skills or AHA programs.
