The Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence-based lifestyle change program to help patients eat well, move more, and prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. This group-based program includes a full year of sessions and support to help you achieve your goals!

At MUSC, our trained Lifestyle Coaches are here to help support you in the process of making small and sustainable changes to lose a little bit of weight (about 4 to 9 percent of your starting weight), work up to and maintain an average of 150 minutes of activity per week, and learn other behavioral strategies to avoid Type 2 Diabetes.
We are currently enrolling participants for new cohorts!
If you have questions about our program, please contact Program Director Dr. Sarah Hales at shineprogram@musc.edu or 843-792-2350.
