MIND seeks to help high school and college students find their passion within the field of neuroscience by exposing them to patients with neurological conditions and assisting with  research projects that aim to discover potential treatments and cures. Pre-med training program for College of Charleston students with the MUSC Department of Neurosurgery.
Learn about medicine, surgery, and academic research through NUTIP: An interactive semester-long training program with the MUSC Department of Neurosurgery.
How it works: You’ll shadow MUSC clinicians in the operating room and clinical rounds, learn about neurosurgical research techniques, and more! You’ll gain real-world experience and a thorough understanding of the medical field as a whole.

Program timeline: This program will last two semesters. Participants are expected to adhere to a time commitment of one day a week, though scheduling is variable.

The MIND Summer Experience Program provides participants with valuable experiences in neuroscience research, mentorship and clinical shadowing.
Participants engage in cutting-edge research projects, working alongside experienced clinical neuroscience faculty and researchers.
Additionally, the program includes shadowing experiences in clinical settings, allowing students to observe procedures and patient care first-hand. This immersive experience aims to inspire and prepare the next generation of neuroscientists and healthcare professionals by providing a well-rounded understanding of both the research and clinical aspects of neuroscience.
