HealthSpring Medicare Advantage Contract Expiration
MUSC Health's contract with HealthSpring Medicare Advantage is scheduled to end on June 30, 2026.
Despite extensive discussions over a significant period of time, MUSC Health and HealthSpring have not reached agreement on terms that appropriately support the level of care and service our patients deserve.
If the contract ends as expected, HealthSpring members may experience higher out-of-pocket costs when receiving care from MUSC Health physicians, hospitals, or other providers after June 30, 2026.
MUSC Health remains committed to ensuring patients continue to have access to high-quality care. As you approach the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment period (October 15 through December 7, 2026), you may wish to evaluate insurance options that include MUSC Health in-network for 2027.
Patients who wish to select a Medicare Advantage plan that includes MUSC Health providers and hospitals may:
- Speak with a licensed insurance broker or benefits advisor.
- Visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) for information regarding available Medicare Advantage plans.
