Applications for the CNPS Education and Training Program will be accepted beginning in Fall 2025. Specific program dates coming soon.

Admission Requirements

Upon application and admission to the CNPS Education and Training Program students must have the following:

EEG: Associate's degree in a healthcare related field or an Associate's degree in a non-healthcare related field with 1+ years clinical healthcare experience or an Associate's degree in non-healthcare related field with 1+ current certification in a healthcare related field. Cumulative college GPA: 2.5

IONM: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a healthcare related field or a Bachelor's degree in a non-healthcare related field with 1+ of the following current certifications: R. EEG. T., R. EP. T. Cumulative college GPA: 3.0

Tuition

Tuition reimbursement available for specialists hired at MUSC Health following certification and completion of board examination.

EEG:

In state: $13,000
Out of state: $15,000

IONM:

In state: $32,000
Out of state: $38,000

Certification

Upon completion of didactic training, students will continue obtaining clinical hours to sit for board examination. When ABRET board eligible, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from MUSC Health.

Board certification is obtained through ABRET. The CNPS Education and Training Program is an ABRET recognized program qualifying our students for the ABRET Formal Programs Pathway.

  • EEG: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG. T.)
  • IONM: Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)
