Interim Chief Executive Officer

Joseph (Scott) Broome, MHA, FACHE, is the interim CEO of MUSC Health – Lancaster Division effective April 13, 2020. A native of Wingate, NC, Broome graduated from Wingate University with degrees in Chemistry and Biology. He was interested in clinical pharmacology at the time, however, given the exposure he had received to health administration, he elected to pursue a Master of Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following this, he completed a one-year administrative fellowship with Charlotte-based Carolinas Healthcare System, now Atrium Health.

Broome began his post-fellowship career with Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC, where he held a variety of roles with progressing levels of responsibility. He brings considerable experience with hospital operations and medical staff development, having served as CEO in two hospital settings. The NC native also brings the experience of having developed a greenfield (completely new or start up facility) hospital in recent years.

Broome is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and he has served as Associate Chief of the Affiliations Network for MUSC prior to accepting the role of Interim CEO for the MUSC-Health Lancaster Division..

Brian Greig

Chief Nursing Officer

Dr. Brian Greig is the Chief Nursing Officer of The Medical University of South Carolina’s Chester Medical Center and Lancaster Medical Center. He is originally from the birthplace of what he says is “American Football”-- Massillon, OH. Brian grew up in Ohio and attended “The” Ohio State University as a sousaphone player. After his fine arts education, his passion for nursing developed and he began his life- long quest for learning and being a part of creating a culture for an excellent patient experience. Prior to joining Chester and Lancaster hospital’s, Brian was the Clinical Critical Director at Carolinas Hospital in Florence. He enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, boating, and island hopping.

Anthony Sands

Market Assistant Chief Financial Officer

Anthony is the Market Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) for the Chester/Lancaster market and the primary financial contact for Chester Medical Center. A native of Conway, SC Anthony completed his undergraduate degree at The Citadel and received his MBA from The Darla Moore School of Business at The University of South Carolina. He and his wife, Hana, reside in Rock Hill with their 3 children. Anthony enjoys golfing, all sports, spending time with his family and being active within the community. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
