Craig A. Harward, MAT, SCAT, ATC

Craig Harward has been a certified athletic trainer since 1983. He completed the EMT-B certificate program at Midlands Technical College in 1976. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Newberry College in 1980. He received his Master of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina in 1982. 

After receiving his Master’s degree from USC, Craig has worked at Brookland-Cayce high school, Newberry College, Wofford College, SC State University and the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun county (now MUSC Health Orangeburg Medical Center). He has also been an athletic trainer for USA Swimming and team athletic trainer for team SC of USA wrestling. 

Prior to joining MUSC Health, Craig was the director of sports medicine and athletic health care administrator at South Carolina State University where he over saw the entire sports medicine program and worked primarily with the football team. Over his extensive career, Craig had many athletes that have gone on to play professionally in their respective sports. 

Craig is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association. 

Craig enjoys spending his free time with his wife and traveling to see his four children and grandson.
