Administrative Fellowship Program

MUSC Health’s Administrative Fellowship Program, is a highly selective one year post-graduate training in academic health system administration geared at providing highly qualified recent graduates the opportunity to enhance their conceptual knowledge base and skills.

Program Structure

The term “structured flexibility” most accurately describes the design of the MUSC Health Fellowship. The content of the experience is tailored to best match the individual and organizational needs.

In addition to predetermined project opportunities, leadership from across the MUSC enterprise will submit potential projects for completion by selected fellows during the 12-month appointment. Projects will offer hands-on experience promoting personal learning and leadership development:

  • 40% Self-directed project work aligned with areas of interest and professional goals
  • 30% Preceptor-directed project work
  • 20% Administrative and clinical rotations
  • 5% Longitudinal Capstone Project
  • 5% Professional Development

Fellows have the discretion to select projects which best fit their areas of interest and desired exposure outside of their appointed department.

  • nurture independence
  • foster experiential learning
  • be for individuals who have recently obtained a master’s degree
  • be under the direction of a Senior Executive

  • Mix of rotations in specific departments as well as general assignments
