Welcome (back) Dr. Edgerton

We are excited to welcome back Dr. Edgerton to the MUSC Health Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Program!

 

Dr. Edgerton grew up in North Carolina where he went to medical school before completing his general surgery residency here at MUSC. He served as the administrative chief resident for his class and was recognized with several teaching and leadership awards. Following this he received additional fellowship training in bariatric and advanced minimally invasive GI surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. While there, he built on his experience in complex and revisional bariatric surgery and performed research on novel methods to maximize weight loss after surgery as well as understanding how surgeons are most effectively trained in minimally invasive surgery. He is excited to return to Charleston with his wife and two sons!
