Patients, Families & Visitors Information for MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center

Founded by local citizens in 1913 as the Camden Hospital, MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center has always had close ties to the community it serves. Today, it is a comprehensive healthcare system with facilities in Camden, Elgin, Lugoff, and Kershaw, including the 119-bed Kershaw Medical Center in Camden, the Elgin Medical Pavilion, and the Lugoff Medical Pavilion.

We believe you shouldn’t have to travel for great care, so that’s why we concentrate on the care you need, close to home. From advanced diagnostics to minimally-invasive surgery and cancer treatment options, MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center provides a wide range of diagnostic, medical, surgical, emergency and urgent care, rehabilitation, and home health and hospice care, as well as general and specialty physician services.

A Patient- and Family-Centered Approach

The MUSC Medical Center supports a patient-and family-centered approach to care. Family members are not considered visitors to a loved one who is hospitalized. They are key participants in support, decision-making, and care. We do not have visiting hour restrictions and two people are always welcome at the bedside 24 hours a day.
