The Hospital Auxiliary

The Hospital Auxiliary has been a long-time supporter of the health care system and its mission.

Under the guidance of Auxiliary president, Mary Clark, the Auxiliary operates The Auxiliary Gift Shoppe in the Medical Center main lobby, and conducts various fundraising activities, including an annual golf tournament and Lights of Love, a program which runs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day to honor those who have been significant in our lives. Lights of Love proceeds are donated to the MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center Oncology Department.

The Auxiliary’s key emphasis is on raising funds to provide scholarships for students entering the medical field. Each year, the Auxiliary awards more than twenty need-based scholarships to Kershaw County students who are enrolled in healthcare-related studies.

Additionally, the Auxiliary applies proceeds from fund-raising projects to unbudgeted needs of MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center departments.

Currently, more than one hundred and fifty members comprise the Hospital Auxiliary. The Auxiliary has served Camden hospitals since 1912 and continues to work to advance quality health care in Kershaw County.
