Treatment Research Study for Individuals 13 to 25

The purpose of this study is to determine if the over-the-counter supplement N-acetylcysteine (NAC), when combined with weekly counseling, is effective in helping young people ages 13 to 25 reduce or stop using alcohol. The study includes 12 visits over six months (initial assessment, weekly treatment visits for eight weeks, and occasional visits for follow-up afterward). Each visit includes direct contact with a medical clinician. Compensation up to $600 is available.
