Cannabis Use & Stress

Two people at a table having a conversation.

This study is enrolling young adults (ages 18 to 25) who use cannabis regularly to better understand stress response in young people who use cannabis and determine if cannabidiol (commonly referred to as "CBD") is helpful to people who are trying to not use cannabis. CBD is one of the main parts of the cannabis plant. The CBD we use is FDA-approved to treat several seizure disorders, which means it is highly regulated and safe. We use a purified CBD, which means it does not have the parts of the cannabis plant that make you feel high (the THC) and it generally has very few negative side effects.

Participation consists of 2 study visits, and it will take approximately 3 weeks to complete the study. Participants will be given a single dose of either CBD or an inactive substance, called a placebo, at one of the study visits. Compensation will be provided after each completed visit in exchange for your time and efforts as a research volunteer. We also offer compensation for completing additional surveys and saliva samples at home. In total, you could receive up to $500 for completing all visits and bonus surveys.

More information about the study can be found on the SCresearch.org website. All information and participation are confidential. If you are interested in participating, fill out the interest form below and someone from our team will reach out to you!
