Big Tobacco Admits Harm

A Federal Court has ruled that Philip Morris USA, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, Lorillard, and Altria deliberately deceived the American public about the health effects of smoking, and has ordered those companies to make the following statements.

The Evolving Cigarette

The Evolving Cigarette film chronicles the evolution of tobacco cigarette designs and packaging over the past century. It focuses on four major topics, 1) manufacturing (cigarette automation, American Tobacco monopoly and break-up), 2) engineering (tobacco blending, flavors, and additives), 3) misconceptions of reduced risk (filters, ventilation, hidden features, low tar), and 4) marketing (line extensions, advertising, products that enable smoking).

SmokeScreen: The Pursuit to Create Doubt

A provocative and entertaining documentary that exposes the tobacco industry's use of public relations to confuse the public about the negative health effects of cigarette smoke. Reveled through secret internal documents, video tapes, and expert testimony, Smokescreen gives an enlightening look into the power of public relations, and an industry's attempt to conceal damaging but factual science about their product.
