Meet Bao Trannguyen

The MUSC Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Program is excited to announce that Bao Trannguyen, a Physician’s Assistant (PA), has joined our team!

 

BaoTran or Bao (rhymes with ‘wow’) is originally from Quincy, Massachusetts. She graduated from the Tufts University School of Medicine PA Program in 2018, and since then has been a practicing mid-level provider in General and Acute Care Surgery. Prior to that, she was a high school science teacher and certified nursing assistant, two positions that instilled in her the value of building strong relationships and promoting self-advocacy. Bao is incredibly excited to join the MUSC Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Program, specifically to work with such a specialized and dedicated team, as well as the highly motivated patient population.

She is looking forward to meeting patients at their preoperative visits, and helping to manage patients’ post-operative care in the short and long-term settings. She strongly believes that weight loss surgery is just one component of helping patients to meet their overall health goals, and strives to connect patients with the appropriate education and resources to help them do so.

When not at work, Bao spends her free time reading, crafting, and exploring the outdoors in South Carolina.
