Resident Care

The Specialty Care Graduate Clinics provide specialty dental care in Endodontics, Pediatrics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Oral Surgery. This dental treatment is performed by residents (dentists who have completed their general dentistry education and who are now pursuing specialty and advanced training). College of Dental Medicine faculty members direct and supervise all specialty clinics.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a dental specialty involving the diagnosis, treatment, and malalignment of teeth, bite, and jaw disorders.

Endodontics

Endodontics is the treatment of infected teeth by cleaning, disinfecting, and filling root canals. Endodontics also covers root end surgery, known as apicoectomy.

Periodontics

Periodontics is the prevention and treatment of diseases of the gingival (gums) and the bone surrounding and supporting the teeth. Treatments can include:

  • Crown lengthening
  • Gingival grafts
  • Implant placement
  • Sinus augmentation
