Listening to Women: Connecting Moms and Babies to Resources

Woman holding infant child

Virtual Newborn Home Visitation and Resource Connector

The MUSC Center for Telehealth, in partnership with SC Thrive, is launching this new program to identify barriers to postpartum success, infant milestones and overall family health.

Listening to Women is a collaborative, technology-enabled solution to home visitation that supports increased touchpoints for families to improve outcomes from both mom and baby.

This free program offers additional support to all individuals who deliver a baby at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.

The Listening to Women program includes:

  • Automatically generated text messaging system monitored by MUSC's telehealth team.
  • Free virtual visit with a registered nurse 5-7 days after discharge.
  • Text messaging communication for up to 12 months after delivery to discuss and support development, social, physical, and mental health needs.
  • Connecting families to community resources in a timely manner by partnering with SC Thrive.

Mom’s current cell phone number, verified prior to delivery, is required.
