Mindfulness Center(virtual sessions)

The MUSC Health Mindfulness Center is designed to foster growth and resilience through evidence-based coping strategies that can improve your quality of life and overall well-being. Learning to manage life stressors like medical, job, or family problems through our resilience and mindfulness programming can help prevent the development of long-term health complications, improve sleep, relieve stress, reduce anxiety, regulate emotion and enhance your ability to manage future adversity. Research shows mindfulness can also reduce chronic pain, lower blood pressure, and improve immune functioning, making the tools available at the clinic more immediately necessary to help you be your best self.

Types of Mindfulness Center Sessions and Pricing

Prior to beginning any product within the program, individuals are able to participate in a complimentary 20-minute consultation (either in person or virtually) to determine the best product fit for their inner health journey. The consultation will help identify goals and provide participants with a recommended series.

$90 (60-minute session)

Meet one-on-one for a structured assessment to identify areas of strengths and to develop a tailored inner health wellness care plan.

$85/per individual 50-minute session or $225/per package of three individual 50-minute sessions; Or $25/per group 50-minute session or $60/per package of three group 50-minute sessions

This series provides education and practical coping strategies to manage daily life stressors or recent adversities. This series is perfect for individuals who want to take pause to learn ways to cultivate healthy inner habits in daily living. Attend one session or the entire series.

Topic sessions are detailed below:

  • Understanding Stress: All humans face stressors, suffering, and challenges throughout our lives. Strengthening strategies to bolster restoration can help improve quality of daily life, enhance competence in managing life stressors, and prevent the development of long-term health issues. This session will provide an overview of stress as well as offer several practical approaches to coping and fostering compassion for oneself.
  • Getting Restful Sleep: Your breaks from life's demands may seem all too fleeting and never enough. This session will show you proven ways to maximize your rest breaks and even get better sleep.
  • Fostering Healthy Relationships: Social support and connecting with others is a key factor to inner health wellbeing. This session will focus on the importance of human connection identifying ways to strengthen current relationships, recognize gaps, and learn practical tips to expand networks.
  • Integrating Self-Care into Daily Living: We feel better when we are doing things in our life that give us a sense of peace and pleasure. The bustles of day to day life often get in the way with many even saying, “I do not have time to take care of myself!” Instead of waiting for the time to arrive, come learn practical strategies to integrate self-care and positive activities into your day and ways to maintain new healthy habits.
  • Live a Meaningful Life (2-part session): Most people live a life in auto-pilot often feeling unfilled and without a sense of meaning and purpose. Come to this two-part session to clarify your values as well as what gives you a sense of purpose and meaning. From there, we will establish a course of intentional actions that provide for a more fulfilled and satisfying life.

$300/individual package for 50-minute session in four-week series; $90/group package for 50-minute session in four-week series

This introductory mindfulness series allows participants to understand basic principles of mindfulness and ways it can assist in managing stress including overview of strategies for both informal and formal practices. Sessions includes didactic with a heavy emphasis on experiential practice for deeper appreciation of skills across daily living such as eating mindfully, connecting with others, and in managing difficult emotions.

  • Mindfulness for Preoperative Patients Series
  • Mindfulness in Cancer Care Series

Drop in series; 30 minutes/per session; $45/per individual session or $120/individual three-session package; $10/group session or $35/group five-session package

Mindfulness simply defined is paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, without judgement. Come foster regular mindfulness practice guided by leading experts in a secular non-religious based mindfulness meditation approach. Meditation is a formal practice of mindfulness allow for deeper appreciation and openness to moments, thoughts, feelings, and connection. Join experts in evidence based approaches to cultivate a sense of calm, peace, and well-being.

Interested in a full immersion through a retreat with the MUSC Health Mindfulness Center? There are three retreat options to choose from that are available throughout the year.

  • Navigating Your Inner Health Journey Retreat - $175/per person; six-hour-long retreat

    All humans face stressors, suffering, and challenges throughout our lives. Strengthening strategies to bolster restoration can help improve quality of daily life, enhance competence in managing life stressors, and prevent the development of long-term health issues. This half-day retreat will provide an overview of stress as well as offer several practical approaches to coping and fostering compassion for oneself. Topics will also include healthy sleep habits, fostering healthy connections, and integrating self-care into daily life. Come to this half-day retreat to recharge and reboot for a better new you.

  • Compassion, Gratitude and Living a Meaningful Life Retreat - $175/per person; six-hour-long retreat

    Most people live a life in auto-pilot often feeling unfilled and without a sense of meaning and purpose. Further, we often are least kind to yourself. This inspirational half-day retreat will help you cultivate a deeper appreciation of self, others and the simpler things in life. You will clarify your values and gently guided to identify what gives you a sense of purpose and meaning. From there, we will establish a course of intentional actions that provide for a more fulfilled and satisfying life. Lunch is included.

  • Mindfulness Retreat - $135/per person; six-hour-long retreat

    Mindfulness simply defined is paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, without judgement. Join a half-day intensive to understand basic principles of mindfulness and ways it can assist in managing stress including strategies for both informal and formal practices. Be guided by leading experts in a secular non-religious based mindfulness and meditation practice to cultivate a sense of calm, peace, and well-being. Lunch is included.

Modern Minds (in-person sessions)

Modern Minds is a new type of adult mental health and wellness clinic offering a one-stop holistic approach to mental, emotional and physical wellness — treating you as a whole person, not a diagnosis. The fully integrative health model engages with participants experiencing stress, depression and/or anxiety while leveraging a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed social workers and wellness mentors who work together to provide a comprehensive care solution. Achieving a whole-person solution means moving you toward balanced wellness in all areas of your life, addressing physical activity, nutrition, mindfulness, relationships, family and work and, ultimately, helping you meet everyday challenges with confidence.

Centerspace (in-person sessions)

Centerspace is a transformational psychotherapy center with highly skilled and medically trained health care experts that utilize ketamine-rooted therapy to guide you through an intentional and unique journey that uses non-traditional approaches to arrive at the best version of yourself. When low doses of ketamine are administered in conjunction with psychotherapy, many experience promisingly lower levels of depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma. Centerspace is centered on respecting and listening to the patient that traditional medicine has failed, offering a safe space and a powerful plan to help the overwhelmed, hopeless, broken, and exhausted find new light.
