Alaine Mills, MS, RD, LD

Her approach to nutrition counseling is focused on intuitive eating and encouraging whole foods that promote good health, energy, and performance. She works in collaboration with her clients to create attainable short- and long-term goals that become permanent lifestyle changes.

Michael Sole, MS, ATC, CSCS

Tenelle J. Anderson LMFT, LAC, CIMHP

Headshot of Mental Health Wellness Expert Tenelle JonesTenelle Anderson is licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT); licensed as an Addictions Counselor (LAC) and Certified as an Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). For the past 25 years, her professional and personal life have been centered around promoting overall mental, physical, and spiritual health of all communities. She remains enthusiastic about showing others that they matter and have a place in this world through counseling, consultation, mentorship, training, education and friendship. Jones provides wellness services through the Health & Wellness Institute for business and groups.

Sundar Balasubramanian, Ph.D.

Headshot of Researcher Sundar BalasubramanianDr. Sundar Balasubramanian is a cell biology researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina where he conducts research on yogic breath’s effect on human biology. He is a certified yoga therapist and the founder of PranaScience Institute. Through his pioneer research, Dr. Sundar has made significant discoveries about the benefits of Pranayama breathwork. Through individual sessions and classes at the Health and Wellness Institute, he is sharing his discoveries to help others share in these benefits.

Robbe Hedstrom

Robbe Hedstrom brings over 20 years of athletic training experience to the Health & Wellness Institute. His career spans the secondary school, college and military settings in addition to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the College of Charleston as well as a Masters in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina. Hedstrom’s experience in the military setting includes the Army at Fort Jackson, working with primarily with basic combat training recruits, and the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune where he was attached to the 2nd Combat Readiness Regiment & an EOD Company. Driven by a desire to serve the athletes who represent our country, Robbe has also worked with the USPOC and United States Soccer Federation since 2013. The latter highlighted by selection to be the ATC for the US Women’s Paralympic National Team at the 2022 World Cup. Hedstrom has also worked with South Carolina state high school associations to develop and implement heat-illness prevention and concussion return-to-learn policies. He also serves on the programming committee for the SC Athletic Trainers Association.

Traci Finley, MS

Traci Finley, MS, is an Exercise Physiologist. She graduated with a BS in Exercise Science from the College of Charleston and an MS in Exercise Physiology from the University of South Carolina. She has a wide range of clinical experience; in addition to her work with Weight Management Center patients, she also provides services to other clients of the MUSC Health and Wellness Institute.

Medical Directors

Alyssa A. Rheingold, Ph.D.

Headshot of MUSC Health Mindfulness Center Director Alyssa RheingoldDr. Rheingold is a clinical psychologist and professor at MUSC specializing in trauma, grief, resiliency, and mindfulness. She serves as the Director of Mindfulness at the MUSC Health and wellness Institute and offers an evidence-based approach to integrating mindfulness and wellbeing strategy in daily life.

Harris S. Slone, M.D.

Headshot of Harris SloneDr. Slone is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at MUSC who specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of sports medicine injuries. Dr. Slone has helped to provide care to several collegiate and professional teams, and is an active clinician scientist, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters as well as presented his research at national and international meetings. Dr. Slone acts as the Medical Director at the MUSC Health & Wellness Institute working closely with Michael Sole, the Insitute’s Athletic Trainer.
