MUSC Health Florence and Marion are supported by more than 50 volunteers ages 18 and up. Typically, volunteers serve one half-day shift per week in an assigned area to match their talents and schedule. Our volunteers' gifts of their time and talents enhance our hospital's service to our patients and their loved ones.
Our Volunteers Include
- Adult Volunteers: A year-round program for adults who are 18+ and have a desire to make a difference
- Volunteer Chaplains: A year round program for chaplains who wish to serve on-call for a minimum of one week per year to minister upon request to hospital patients, loved ones and staff.
- Teen Volunteers: A summer program held in June and July for teens, who are 14 years old by the June start date and have an overall "B" average for the respective school year.

What are the Benefits?
Volunteering at MUSC Health Florence and Marion is good for our patients and their families, and good for you! Aside from the benefit of giving time and energy that helps the well-being of our patients and their families -- and makes our community better, -- you also receive tangible benefits. These include a free meal upon completing four hours of service, 24/7 access to the MUSC Health Employee Fitness Center, health screening opportunities, a volunteer uniform, flu shots.
Formed solely for charitable purposes, the MUSC Health Volunteer Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization, which raises funds through special sales and other efforts. Donations include scholarships for students pursuing health care careers at Francis Marion University and Florence-Darlington Technical College and for the benefit of the American Heart Association, United Way, Mercy Medicine and many other nonprofit organizations.
